Java Developer (IT)

Candidate profile: In this role, you will help run and enhance a critical national authentication platform, ensuring reliability, security, and continuous improvement. You?ll take ownership of delivering new features, resolving incidents, and shaping how the platform evolves as part of a supportive, high-performing engineering team.
- Own & Deliver: Build and enhance features aligned to the product roadmap
- Resolve & Support: Troubleshoot and fix high-priority incidents quickly
- Collaborate & Shape: Work closely with Product Owners, BAs, and Technical Leads
- Improve & Modernise: Reduce technical debt and enhance system performance
- Automate & Streamline: Improve CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
- Scale & Maintain: Support a high-availability, critical national service
- Strong Java development experience
- Python scripting
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS and/or Azure)
- CI/CD and DevOps tooling (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Maven)
- Containerisation (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes)
- Database experience (PostgreSQL and/or Microsoft SQL Server)
- Identity & access management tools (PingDS, PingIDM, HAProxy)
- Infrastructure as Code (Terraform)
- Testing tools (Karate, Playwright, Gatling/Scala)
