DT Technician - High Performing Secondary School in Leeds...
A high performing and well-resourced secondary school in Leeds is seeking a skilled and organised Design & Technology Technician to join its successful DT department as soon as possible. This is an excellent opportunity to support high-quality practical learning within a department that delivers strong outcomes and values technical excellence.
The DT department offers a broad curriculum including Product Design, Resistant Materials, and engineering-based projects, supported by modern workshops and CAD/CAM facilities.
The Role
Preparing tools, machinery, and materials for practical DT lessons
Maintaining workshop equipment and ensuring machinery is serviced appropriately
Supporting teachers and pupils during practical sessions
Managing stock control, materials ordering, and resource organisation
Ensuring strict compliance with workshop health & safety regulations
Maintaining risk assessments and safety documentation
Assisting with GCSE and A Level NEA preparation
Supporting the overall organisation and efficiency of the department
The Ideal Candidate Will Have
Previous experience in a workshop, technical, or school-based role
Strong practical skills and understanding of workshop machinery
Knowledge of health & safety compliance within practical environments
Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
The ability to work independently and proactively
Strong communication skills and collaborative mindset
