Financial Accountant

Robert Half Accountancy and Finance is recruiting for a Financial Accountant to join a market leading business based in Leeds.

This role is central to maintaining the integrity of financial records across various general accounting functions. From collecting and analysing financial data to ensuring accuracy and completeness, your day-to-day contributions will support the organisation's commitment to excellence in financial reporting.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and file statutory accounts on time and in compliance with accounting standards
• Prepare and submit other regulatory information as required
• Review VAT returns for various entities
• Maintain strong relationships with auditors, business unit management, and other stakeholders to meet deadlines
• Develop and document internal accounting controls
• Assist in setting up processes and procedures to improve operations
• Provide guidance and support for internal and external audits (ad-hoc, quarterly, and annual)
• Manage other financial responsibilities as needed

Requirements:

• Previous Financial Accounting or VAT accounting experience
• Experience with evaluating and analysing financial projects effectively
• Independent worker with strong judgement and decision-making skills
• Capable of working collaboratively within a team and liaising with various departments
• Strong organisation, time management, and attention to deadlines
• Qualified , Part-qualified or QBE Financial Accountant will be considered
