Clinical Negligence Solicitor
Claimant Clinical Negligence Solicitor / Legal Executive (2-6 PQE) Location: Leeds city centre (flexible across Yorkshire offices) Due to continued organic growth, a well-established and highly regarded Yorkshire law firm is seeking to recruit a Claimant Clinical Negligence Solicitor or Legal Executive with 2-6 years' experience. While the role is primarily based in a Leeds city-centre office, the firm operates a wide regional network across North, South and West Yorkshire and can offer flexibility for experienced candidates who prefer to work from alternative locations. The Clinical Negligence team is award-winning and well-established, consisting of a group of high-calibre practitioners who provide excellent supervision, mentoring and peer support. The Role You will join a specialist Claimant Clinical Negligence team handling exclusively multi-track matters, ranging from complex, high-value cases to more straightforward claims. Work is primarily referral-based, allowing the team to be selective about the cases they accept. Caseloads are managed according to complexity rather than volume, with most fee-earners handling fewer than 40 live matters. Paralegal and secretarial support is available as required. As your caseload develops, you will also assist colleagues on discrete tasks and contribute to the wider success of the team. Key Responsibilities Running a caseload of Claimant Clinical Negligence matters Managing files from initial instruction through to conclusion and archiving Taking client instructions and providing clear, sensitive advice Instructing counsel and medical experts Advocacy and court representation where appropriate Preparing and maintaining file documentation Keeping legal knowledge up to date Contributing to business development activities Candidate Profile 2-6 years' PQE (or equivalent experience) in Claimant Clinical Negligence Experience running a claimant caseload (exclusively or predominantly) Excellent client-care and communication skills Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines Technically competent, commercially aware and quality-driven Able to work independently and collaboratively within a supportive team
