Job Overview

At Leeds United, we know that success on the pitch starts with strength behind the scenes.

We have an exciting opportunity for an individual to join our team as an Academy Scout on a casual basis, offering ad hoc hours to cover key games. You will support the region in coverage of Academy fixtures in both live and video viewings. You will provide Information in the region of fixtures but also market activity.

We have opportunities covering both Leeds and York.

What will you be doing?

Provide key support to our Head of Local 7-14 Recruitment in the identification and assessment of young players aged 7 -14 in local football including grassroots, schools, private academies and tournaments throughout the year.

To build an in-depth database and knowledge of local players 7 -14 in the catchment areas assigned.

To scout and identify high potential talent within the Sector.

To provide written performance reports from live games attended to support the decision-making process .

Develop an internal knowledge of current LUFC Academy players

Feed information into wider player projects

Attend any CPD/meetings as directed by the Head of Local Recruitment

Promote a positive identity of LUFC to parents, local grassroots coaches and Clubs within your region.

Who are we looking for?

To be successful in this role, you will have excellent knowledge of professional academy football within the local area. You will have a strong understanding of youth football and specifically long-term youth development. The right candidate with have excellent ability to maintain and develop relationships with key stakeholders within the football community.

Essential

Demonstrated scouting experience in local grassroots football

FA level 1 Talent Identification.

You will be computer literate and have experience of using scouting software (Hudl, Wyscout, Eyeball etc)

Strong communication and relationship building skills.
