Why join us?

Are you passionate about supporting young people and helping them achieve their best? Our school offers a caring, inclusive community where you can develop your career while making a real difference in the lives of pupils aged 11‑16. You will work alongside dedicated staff in a modern, well‑resourced environment that values wellbeing, professional growth, and high‑quality education.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide one‑to‑one (or small‑group, max 6 pupils) mentoring and academic support.
  • Assist the classroom teacher during lessons and help with lesson planning and preparation.
  • Monitor and report pupil progress, raising concerns and liaising with staff to meet individual needs.
  • Supervise pupils during non‑classroom times, including extracurricular activities and school trips.
  • Build positive relationships that encourage engagement and successful learning outcomes.
  • Adapt resources and materials to suit diverse learning requirements.
  • Take on additional responsibilities (e.g., food hygiene, forest school, lunchtime duties, school yoga) as needed.

What We’re Looking For

  • Strong basic education – ideally A‑levels, with at least GCSE Grade C (or equivalent) in English Language and Mathematics.
  • Good IT skills.
  • Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant or in a comparable support role.
  • Experience working with pupils who have Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.
  • Confidence in behaviour management techniques.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development.
  • Willingness to undergo an enhanced Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) check (cost covered by the employer).

Working Conditions & Benefits

  • Company pension scheme and life assurance.
  • Employee discount programme.
  • A workplace that prioritises emotional health and wellbeing for all staff.
  • Access to a wide range of professional development opportunities.
  • Chance to make a meaningful impact on vulnerable learners in a safe, supportive setting.
  • Friendly, inclusive team culture focused on pupil outcomes.

Opportunities for Growth

We invest in your future. Through training, mentorship, and a variety of specialist roles (e.g., food hygiene, forest school, yoga), you can expand your skill set and progress within the organization.

Application Process

The successful candidate will be required to complete an enhanced DBS check, the cost of which will be covered by the organization. We are an equal‑opportunity employer and encourage applications from all suitably qualified candidates who share our commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people, and vulnerable adults.
