Finance Officer - Outstanding School - Leeds
We are currently seeking a highly organised and experienced Finance Officer to join a vibrant secondary school in Leeds. This is a fantastic opportunity for a detail-oriented professional to play a crucial role in the school's financial management and administrative operations. The Role
The school is looking for a dedicated Finance Officer to manage the day-to-day financial activities of the school. You will be a key member of the administrative team, ensuring financial compliance and providing support to the wider school community. Your responsibilities will include:
- Managing the school's finances, including processing invoices, handling payments, and reconciling bank statements.
- Maintaining accurate financial records and preparing reports for the senior leadership team and governors.
- Assisting with budget management and financial forecasting to ensure the school's long-term stability.
- Handling all financial transactions related to school trips, events, and a variety of school activities.
- Liaising with suppliers, parents, and staff regarding financial queries and transactions.
The ideal candidate will have experience using school-specific financial software such as SIMS FMS , IRIS Financials , Sage for Education , or Access Education Finance .
Candidate Requirements:
To be considered for this role, you should have:
- Proven experience working in a finance or accounting role, preferably within a school or public sector environment.
- Strong knowledge of financial software and systems, and an excellent understanding of accounting principles.
- A high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective relationships.
- A proactive and flexible approach to work, and the ability to manage a busy workload.

The salary for this position is competitive and will be based on the school's support staff pay scale, commensurate with your experience and qualifications.
