One‑to‑One Teaching Assistant (Full‑Time, Fixed‑Term)

Contract & Compensation

• Contract: 12‑month fixed‑term, full‑time, term‑time only
• Salary: £21,257.48 – £23,232.69 per annum
• Location: Headingley, Leeds
• Start dates: Various – January to March 2026

Key Responsibilities

• Mentor and support one pupil or a small group (maximum six pupils)
• Assist the classroom teacher during lessons and help with lesson planning
• Report on pupil progress, raise concerns, and liaise with staff to meet individual needs
• Supervise pupils during non‑classroom time, including extracurricular activities and school trips
• Adapt resources to suit the learning requirements of young people
• Build positive relationships that encourage interaction and successful learning outcomes

Essential Requirements

• Strong basic education – ideally A‑levels; minimum GCSE Grade C (or equivalent) in English Language and Mathematics
• Sound IT skills
• Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant or in a comparable support role
• Experience working with pupils who have Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs
• Confidence to take additional responsibilities (e.g., food hygiene, forest school, lunchtime supervision, school yoga)
• Knowledge of behaviour‑management techniques
• Commitment to professional development and a willingness to learn
• Willingness to undergo an enhanced Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) check (cost covered by the organization)
