The Role
The school is seeking a compassionate and proactive Welfare Officer to support the wellbeing of students across the school.
This role is vital in ensuring students feel safe, supported and able to engage fully in their education. You will work closely with the pastoral team, safeguarding staff and senior leaders to support students who may be experiencing challenges that impact their wellbeing or attendance.
The successful candidate will be a key point of contact for students requiring pastoral support and will help to maintain the school’s positive and supportive environment.
Responsibilities
• Provide support for students experiencing emotional, social or welfare-related challenges
• Work closely with the safeguarding team to ensure student wellbeing is prioritised
• Monitor student attendance and wellbeing concerns
• Provide first-line support for students requiring pastoral guidance
• Liaise with parents and carers regarding student welfare
• Support the implementation of safeguarding policies and procedures
• Work collaboratively with pastoral leaders and teaching staff
• Maintain accurate records relating to student wellbeing and interventions
• Coordinate support plans for students requiring additional assistance
• Signpost students and families to external support services where appropriate
