Professional Indemnity Lawyer

Associate / Senior Associate - Professional Indemnity (Leeds or Manchester) BCL Legal is working with a leading international law firm in their search for an Associate or Senior Associate to join their Professional Indemnity team. This opportunity offers a balance of high-quality, intellectually challenging work with genuine flexibility and career progression. The Role You will join a highly regarded Professional and Commercial Risk practice, acting for major insurers and insured professionals across the supply chain. The work is varied and stimulating, covering the full spectrum of insurance litigation and advisory matters, including:

• A caseload of professional negligence claims spanning a wide range of professionals.
• Advising insurers on coverage, recovery, and strategic issues.
• Conducting both pre-action and litigated matters, including mediation and other forms of ADR.
• Direct engagement with clients, experts, and counsel.
• Supporting partners on high-value matters while taking responsibility for your own caseload.
• Supervising and mentoring more junior lawyers where appropriate.

The Candidate

• We are keen to speak with solicitors with around 3+ years' PQE (though all levels will be considered on merit) who can demonstrate:
• Solid professional indemnity and insurance litigation experience.
• Strong client-handling and relationship-building skills.
• Confidence in managing a caseload with appropriate levels of partner support.
• A collaborative and collegiate approach, with the ability to support and develop junior team members.
• A proactive, adaptable outlook with enthusiasm for contributing to the growth of the team.
