SEN EYFS Teaching Assistant

About the Role: NextGen Teachers are currently recruiting for a committed and experienced EYFS SEN Teaching Assistant to work within a mainstream primary school in the LS15 area of Leeds. This role is on a supply basis and will involve providing dedicated 1:1 support to a pupil with additional needs.
This is a rewarding opportunity for someone with a strong understanding of early years development and experience supporting children with SEN and SEMH needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide consistent 1:1 support to a pupil within an EYFS setting
- Support the child's learning, development, and emotional regulation
- Implement behaviour management strategies effectively and consistently
- Assist with the delivery of EYFS activities tailored to individual needs
- Support communication, social interaction, and engagement in learning
- Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to follow support plans
Requirements:
- Previous experience working with children with SEN and/or SEMH needs
- Strong behaviour management skills and confidence working 1:1
- Good understanding of the EYFS framework and early childhood development
- Patient, resilient, and nurturing approach
- Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff
- Relevant qualifications are desirable but not essential
- The right to work in the UK
- An enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to complete one)
- The ability to provide 24 months of professional references
