Site Services Engineer
To install, maintain, and repair mechanical materials handling systems at customer sites across the UK, ensuring all work is completed safely, professionally, and in full compliance with UK health and safety legislation, company policies, and customer requirements. Key Responsibilities Core Duties:
- Install, maintain, and repair materials handling systems, including chains, conveyors, sprockets, bearings, valves, and associated mechanical equipment.
- Provide on-site mechanical support to customers, diagnosing faults and carrying out repairs in line with agreed Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
- Work from engineering drawings, identifying discrepancies, changes, or omissions and feeding these back to enable drawing updates.
- Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with approved Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS).
- Strictly follow Safe Systems of Work, including Lock Out / Tag Out (LOTO) procedures and site-specific safety rules.
- Level 3 NVQ or equivalent qualification in Mechanical Engineering (or closely related discipline).
- Strong mechanical fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining high safety standards.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise work in a fast-paced environment.
- Clear communication skills, both verbal and written.
- A proactive, solution-focused approach to work.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Predominantly field-based at customer sites across the UK.
- Regular travel required; overnight stays will be necessary depending on location.
- Shutdown work may involve 12-hour shifts and up to 13 consecutive working days, in line with Working Time Regulations and agreed opt-outs where applicable
