SEN TA
Join Career Teachers and work as a special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) teaching assistant at our partnership schools in Leeds Starting as soon as possible, you’ll work alongside dedicated educators, engaging with pupils and shaping the next generation.
Our partnership school’s care for and nurture pupils with moderate learning difficulties, autism spectrum disorders, SEMH, ADHD, PMLD, hearing impairment and visual impairment. We work with schools in both Primary and Secondary settings, so the children’s age ranges from 3-16 years old.
We are looking for teaching assistants with experience with SEND environments and nurturing personalities. Familiarity with the national Key Stage Curriculum, an understanding of child development and learning, excellent communication skills, adaptability, empathy, and dedication to promoting equal opportunities are the key qualities we seek in teaching assistants.
Responsibilities of the role include:
- Ensuring student safety and facilitating access to learning activities.
- Contributing to education and behaviour plans.
- Encouraging inclusivity and embracing diversity.
- Setting high expectations for student achievement.
- Providing feedback on student progress.
- Upholding child protection policies.
- Assisting with supervision outside of class.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Previous experience in teaching support.
- Proficiency in spoken and written English.
- Right to work in the UK.
