Clinical negligence Solicitor – Leeds
I am delighted to be working on behalf of a fast-growing, highly regarded law firm to recruit a Grade B Clinical Negligence Solicitor (or equivalent) to join its expanding team in Leeds.
This is an outstanding opportunity for an experienced clinical negligence lawyer looking to take the next step within a progressive, supportive and ambitious environment.
The Opportunity:
You will join a well-established Clinical Negligence team known for delivering exceptional client outcomes and handling high-quality, complex work. The team includes accredited specialists and experienced litigators and you will play a key role in managing and progressing claims independently while contributing to the wider team's success.
The firm offers a genuinely flexible hybrid working model, combining home working with time in modern, collaborative office space.
Key Responsibilities:
Accountable For:
- Running your own individual clinical negligence caseload
- Supporting and guiding junior team members to ensure outstanding client service
- Contributing to proactive, commercial case management across the team
- Supporting the Team Leader/Head of Department in delivering financial and performance KPIs
- Accurate and effective time recording
Responsible For:
- Agreeing case tactics and strategy with the Team Leader/Head of Department
- Identifying and progressing cases ready for Letter of Claim, settlement or service
- Ensuring relevant evidence and documentation is collated to drive cases forward
- Managing claims proactively and commercially
- Coordinating progression with internal and external stakeholders
- Drafting legal documentation including Letters of Claim and letters of instruction
- Negotiating settlement and issuing/serving proceedings where required
- Conducting litigation as necessary
- Overseeing documentation and correspondence produced within the team
- Advising colleagues on technical issues, with support from senior leadership where required
About You:
- 5+ years' PQE (or equivalent experience) in Clinical Negligence
- Recent experience managing your own caseload
- Excellent organisational and time management skills
- Strong drafting and communication skills
- Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office, Proclaim and Excel
- Excellent attention to detail
- Strong commercial awareness
- Experience mentoring or coaching junior colleagues
- Excellent client care skills
- Flexible, committed and deadline-driven
