The Role

The school is looking for a dynamic and innovative Subject Lead of DT who can lead the subject with confidence while maintaining outstanding classroom practice. The successful Subject Lead of DT will play a key role in curriculum development and departmental leadership.

Responsibilities of the Subject Lead of DT include:

• Leading and developing Design & Technology across KS3–KS5

• Teaching DT, with potential specialisms in Product Design, Resistant Materials, or Engineering

• Driving curriculum innovation and maintaining high standards of teaching and learning

• Monitoring student progress and implementing strategies to raise attainment

• Supporting and mentoring colleagues within the department

• Managing resources, including workshops, equipment, and materials

The Ideal Candidate

• Hold QTS or an equivalent teaching qualification

• Have strong experience teaching DT across KS3–KS5

• Be passionate about design, innovation, and student development
