Flexibility & Renewable Operations Analyst

Engie
Leeds
At ENGIE, we accelerate the energy transition by delivering innovative, sustainable solutions. Our Global Energy Management & Sales (GEMS) team sits at the heart of this mission, shaping how energy is traded, optimised, and delivered across markets.

We are looking for a Flexibility & Operations Analyst to join our growing PPA & Flexibility Services team. This is your chance to work at the forefront of two of the fastest-growing areas in UK energy, flexibility and renewables, as outlined in NESO's Clean Power 2030 plan. You will build forecasting tools, automate processes, and directly support the commercial team in winning new business.

Summary of what you will do

  • Develop and improve flexibility revenue forecasting tools, integrating new markets such as wholesale, DSO Flexibility, and Locational Balancing Mechanism forecasting.
  • Conduct detailed market analysis and produce accurate revenue forecasts to support flexibility quotes, RfPs, and tender responses.
  • Build and enhance operational tools, automated dashboards, and reporting processes in collaboration with the wider Flexibility Market Services team.
  • Translate complex contractual arrangements into operable billing models and support the creation of accurate invoices.
  • Act as the first point of contact for customer and originator queries on PPA/GPA operations, billing, and data, delivering clear and professional communication.
  • Produce timely and accurate pricing quotations for Power and Gas generators, ensuring all accepted quotes are correctly captured in systems.
  • Lead ad hoc analytical projects that drive change, improvement, and new product development for the commercial team.

What you will bring to the role

  • A degree (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline such as engineering, mathematics, economics, or data science.
  • Demonstrable coding skills in Python, VBA, SQL, or DAX. Training on specific tools will be provided.
  • Strong analytical and numerical ability with excellent attention to detail.
  • One to two years of experience in the UK energy industry or a relevant master's degree - though this is not essential, and we actively encourage you to apply regardless.
  • Experience delivering high levels of customer service through efficient, process-driven operations.
  • Effective communication skills with the ability to translate complex data into clear, actionable insights.
  • Experience developing Power BI data models is desirable.
  • A genuine interest in the energy sector, particularly flexibility markets and sustainability.

Location

Leeds - Hybrid working arrangement. You will split your time between the office and remote working, giving you the flexibility to balance collaboration with focused individual work.

What We Offer

  • A competitive salary and clear career progression within ENGIE's global energy trading and management business.
  • A diverse range of missions - from market forecasting and automation to customer engagement and commercial strategy.
  • Stimulating, meaningful work that directly contributes to the UK's clean energy transition.
  • A friendly, supportive team environment where collaboration and knowledge-sharing are valued.
  • Flexible working arrangements that respect your work-life balance.
  • Access to professional development, training programmes, and exposure to cutting-edge energy markets.

Our Commitment

At ENGIE, every talent has a role to play in accelerating the energy transition. Make a difference and enjoy a fulfilling professional experience. Take on exciting challenges and build a career path that reflects who you are. Join us and be part of the adventure of the century!
