Approx. 10 months | Starting late June | 31.75 hours per week (including alternate weekends)

We’re looking for an enthusiastic  Grass Hoppers Manager  to join us on a  maternity cover contract from 29th June .

About the Role

As Grass Hoppers Manager, you’ll take ownership of the day‑to‑day running of our busy play and catering operation, leading a large team to deliver fun, safe and unforgettable experiences for our visitors.

This is a hands‑on role – especially during peak periods – so flexibility and energy are essential. You’ll be equally confident rolling up your sleeves on the floor as you are managing rotas, budgets and standards behind the scenes.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Leading, motivating and developing a large team of supervisors and team members
• Managing daily operations including play sessions, parties and food service
• Ensuring high standards of health & safety, food hygiene and compliance at all times
• Planning ahead for busy periods, seasonal peaks and school holidays
• Managing wages, forecasts, stock levels and operational efficiency
• Handling customer feedback and resolving issues professionally
• Being a visible, supportive presence for both customers and colleagues

✅ What We’re Looking For

We’re keen to hear from candidates who can demonstrate:

• Hands‑on management experience in a similar role or environment (leisure, hospitality, attraction or customer‑facing setting)
• Strong catering knowledge and understanding of food safety and hygiene standards
• A solid grasp of health & safety compliance, risk assessments and safe working practices
• The ability to stay calm, organised and positive during busy peak times
• Confidence managing people, performance and operational pressures
• Flexibility to work 31.75 hours per week including alternate weekends

About Grass Hoppers Tingley

Grass Hoppers is part of our wider play and leisure group, with sites at Tong and Tingley, and an exciting new location opening soon in Otley. We also operate Mission Out at Tingley, which forms part of our wider Play team.

We work collaboratively across all sites, sharing ideas, best practice and supporting one another during busy periods. Flexibility is essential, as this role may occasionally involve supporting across locations — ensuring there is always guidance, teamwork and support on hand.

This role reports directly into the Group Play Manager and is supported by two Supervisors and a large team of team members.
