Professional Indemnity Solicitor
Residential Conveyancer – London
I’m currently working with a leading international law firm seeking to recruit a Professional Indemnity Solicitor to join its highly regarded Professional & Commercial Risk team in Leeds.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a Junior Lawyer looking to build a career in professional indemnity work, gaining exposure to high-quality, complex matters within a collaborative and supportive environment. The firm is well known for delivering top-tier insurance litigation work while maintaining a genuinely flexible approach to hybrid working.
The Role
You will join a busy and growing team acting for insured professionals and major insurers in the defence of professional negligence claims, alongside providing advice on policy coverage, recovery and wider strategic issues.
The role offers a broad and varied caseload, as well as the opportunity to work closely with experienced Senior Lawyers on more complex matters.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Assisting with and managing a mixed caseload of professional negligence claims against a wide range of professionals
- Handling both pre-action and litigated matters
- Reviewing documentation to analyse key issues and determine next steps
- Managing disclosure exercises and drafting witness statements
- Supporting senior fee earners on complex and high-value claims
- Liaising directly with experts and counsel
- Assisting with alternative dispute resolution processes, including mediation
To be considered for this role, you will:
- Be a qualified Solicitor with 1+ PQE
- Have a genuine interest in Professional Indemnity/professional liability work
- Ideally have completed a seat in professional indemnity or a relevant transferable area (e.g. defendant personal injury, commercial litigation, property litigation, or contentious probate)
- Demonstrate strong client handling and communication skills
- Be capable of managing a caseload with appropriate supervision
- Have excellent attention to detail and strong analytical skills
- Take a proactive and flexible approach to your work
- Be a collaborative team player with a willingness to learn and develop
- Be motivated to contribute to a high-performing and ambitious team
The Firm
This is a globally recognised law firm with a strong reputation across the insurance sector and a broad international presence.
The firm acts for a wide range of clients including leading insurers, corporates and public sector organisations. You will benefit from exposure to high-calibre work and the opportunity to collaborate with colleagues across multiple jurisdictions.
Despite its scale, the firm is known for its supportive and inclusive culture, where Junior Lawyers are given responsibility early on and are supported in their long-term career development.
