Training Programme Director in Paediatric Dentistry | NHS England
An outstanding individual is sought to fulfil the role of Training Programme Director for Paediatric Dentistry within North and West Yorkshire. The successful applicant will be accountable to the Postgraduate Dental Dean via the Associate Postgraduate Dental Dean, they will play an important part in the direction of Paediatric Dentistry training programmes in South Yorkshire with Workforce, Training and Education/Yorkshire & Humber (NHSE WTE YH). Specific roles and responsibilities will be discussed at interview.
Candidates must currently be working within Paediatric Dentistry in the Yorkshire and the Humber region. The post will be remunerated at 0.75PA per week. All work undertaken is to be incorporated into the successful applicant’s Job Plan. Regional travel may be required for meetings and educational events. Main duties of the role include:
• Induction into the training programmes
• Involvement in the ARCP process
• Delivery of education
• Involvement in recruitment
• Managing and supporting trainees in difficulty
• Appointment, training, support and management of their Educational Supervisor team
• Attendance at DST Board and Strategy Planning meetings
• Engage in annual appraisal of their role with the ADD NHS England has a wide range of statutory functions, responsibilities and regulatory powers. In March 2025,the Government announcedthat NHS England and the Department of Health and Social Care will increasingly merge functions, ultimately leading to NHS England being fully integrated into the department. If you currently work within the NHS and if successful at interview, we will initiate an Inter Authority Transfer (IAT) via the Electronic Staff Record (ESR). This retrieves key data from your current or previous NHS employer to support onboarding, including competency status, Continuous Service Dates (CSD), and annual leave entitlement. You may opt out at any stage of the process. Colleagues with a contractual office base are expected to spend, on average, at least 40% of their time working in our offices. Staff recruited from outside the NHS will usually be appointed at the bottom of the pay band.
