The Role

As a Caretaker, you will be responsible for the day-to-day maintenance, security, and general upkeep of the school buildings and grounds. You will be a visible and essential part of the school team, ensuring that the site is always ready for learning.

Key Responsibilities:

• Site Security: Act as a key holder, responsible for the opening and closing of the school premises and ensuring the building is secure at all times.

• General Maintenance: Carry out essential repairs, minor plumbing, joinery, and painting/decorating tasks to keep the facilities in top condition.

• Health & Safety: Conduct regular safety checks, including fire alarm testing, water temperature monitoring (Legionella prevention), and playground inspections.

• Grounds Upkeep: Ensure the school grounds are kept tidy, safe, and free of litter, including gritting paths during the winter months.

• Contractor Liaison: Supervise external contractors on-site and monitor cleaning standards across the school.

• Manual Handling: Assist with the movement of furniture and the delivery of supplies around the site.
