Senior Neurodevelopmental Practitioner
Role Introduction
Are you passionate about improving the outcomes for neurodivergent children and young people? We have an exciting opportunity for a qualified professional (Occupational or Speech Therapist, nurse, social worker) to join the school-age neurodevelopmental (autism/ ADHD) assessment team as a senior clinician.
This is a chance to work with an enthusiastic, experienced multidisciplinary team to provide high-quality assessment of school-age children with suspected neurodevelopmental conditions. We welcome applications from candidates with prior experience of specialist diagnostic assessment and formulation, and experience supporting neurodivergent children/young people and their families. The successful candidate(s) will have experience working as part of a multidisciplinary team.
The Neurodevelopmental Assessment team is part of the Children and Young People's Mental Health service (CYPMHS) and the role will include interface and liaison with the wider CYPMHS service.
You will play a key role in delivering all aspects of neurodevelopment assessment clinics offered by CYPMHS Neurodevelopmental Assessment team, including parent/carer interviews, structured assessment and observations, liaison with other professionals, contribution to MDT discussions and decision making following assessment, report writing and feedback to families.
The role will involve offering supervision and support to team members. As a senior practitioner in the team, you will be responsible for leading assessments and autonomously managing a caseload of children/young people. You will have the opportunity to undertake leadership roles that help ensure the quality and effectiveness of the service.
We are committed to enabling the development of staff through ensuring access to appropriate CPD training and events.
The role will mostly be office / clinic based at sites across Leeds with some opportunities for home-working dependent on service need.
