HGV Technician / HGV Mechanic
Location: Rothwell Salary: Up to £51,500 (Option for alternate Saturdays 7am - 12pm) Shift: Monday to Friday, 7:00am - 5:00pm

An opportunity has arisen for an experienced HGV Technician to join a well-established operation in Rothwell. Working as part of a large, skilled team, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing a varied fleet of commercial vehicles to a high standard.

The company operates a fleet of over 2,000 vehicles across multiple depots, including tippers, tipper grabs, beavertails, and LCVs.

You will be based in a well-equipped workshop featuring 5 pits, large open floor working areas with ramps and mobile column lifts, as well as a state-of-the-art brake test load simulator and brake roller system. The site currently employs 14 technicians and also offers an on-site gym.

Key Responsibilities

Carry out routine maintenance, servicing, and repairs on HGVs and LCVs
Diagnose faults using diagnostic equipment and rectify efficiently
Conduct inspections in line with DVSA standards
Complete brake, engine, transmission, and electrical work
Ensure all work is completed safely and in line with company procedures
Accurately complete job cards and maintenance records
Work effectively as part of a team to minimise vehicle downtime

Requirements

Proven experience as an HGV Technician
Ideally a relevant qualifications (NVQ/City & Guilds Level 3 or equivalent)
Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills
Experience working on a range of commercial vehicles
A reliable and professional approach to work
