Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 3:30pm

Salary: £19500 - £20,500 (depending on experience)
We are seeking a caring and committed SEN Teaching Assistant to support pupils with a range of special educational needs and disabilities, ensuring their safety, wellbeing, and full access to learning. Working closely with the class teacher, you will help deliver engaging and appropriately challenging learning experiences, support behaviour management, and ensure resources are used effectively. The role also involves providing personal care and supporting a range of interventions, including physical, emotional, and medical needs, both in and out of the classroom. You will work under the guidance of senior staff, following safeguarding, health, and data protection policies at all times.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support pupils with special educational needs and disabilities, ensuring their safety and access to learning.
- Assist the class teacher in delivering engaging, differentiated, and appropriately challenging lessons.
- Support behaviour management and promote positive learning behaviours.
- Provide personal care and support, including feeding, hygiene, and physical or medical needs.
- Deliver and support targeted interventions, therapies, and support programmes.
- Ensure the health, safety, and wellbeing of pupils at all times, both in lessons and during non-lesson activities.
- Use classroom resources effectively to support teaching and learning.
- Work under the guidance of senior staff and follow school policies, procedures, and code of conduct.
- Adhere to safeguarding and child protection policies, reporting any concerns appropriately.
What we're looking for:
- Previous experience supporting children or young people with special educational needs and disabilities is essential.
- A caring and committed individual with a passion for supporting pupils with special educational needs and disabilities.
- Experience or willingness to support pupils with a range of needs, including physical, medical, behavioural, and emotional needs.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with pupils, staff, and families.
- A calm, patient, and resilient approach to supporting behaviour and responding to individual needs.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and follow the direction of teaching and senior staff.
- A flexible and proactive attitude, with the ability to adapt to different situations throughout the school day.
- Willingness to undertake training in areas such as safeguarding, moving and handling, medical needs, and behaviour support.
- A strong commitment to safeguarding, confidentiality, and following school policies and procedures.
