Cover Supervisor

Academics are currently looking for cover supervisors to work in in schools within the Wakefield area. Cover supervisors play a vital role within schools and are required to carry out pre-planned lessons for teacher absences. The role of a cover supervisor is a great step for those who are aspiring to be teachers as well as recent graduates who are looking to gain classroom experience.

Your main responsibilities as a cover supervisor will involve the following:

* Creating a positive learning environment for the students and helping them develop with their academic studies
* Supervising student’s behaviour and referring to the school’s behaviour management policy if required
* Displaying subject knowledge to students across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4
* Following the schools safeguarding policies, ensuring a safe environment for the students

Qualities and attributes we are looking for as a cover supervisor:

* Flexibility to cover multiple subjects and to correspond with any last-minute requirements
* Excellent communication skills with a passion for making an impact on student's lives
* Previous experience preferred, but not essential
* A university degree
* An enhanced DBS on the update service, or willing to apply to one
