As a Mental Health Nurse working in Leeds, you will be responsible for providing high-quality, patient-centred care to individuals with a range of complex mental health needs. Key Responsibilities for the Mental Health Nurse Job in Leeds
- Deliver safe and effective nursing care to patients with varying mental health conditions.
- Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments, including risk assessments.
- Formulate and implement personalised care plans based on individual needs.
- Administer medications and monitor treatment progress in line with clinical guidelines.

- Document all aspects of care accurately and in compliance with professional standards.
- Support families and carers with education, advice, and reassurance.
- Contribute to ongoing service development and quality improvement initiatives.
Requirements for the Mental Health Nurse Job in Leeds
- Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) with a valid NMC pin.
- Experience working in adult mental health, CAMHS, forensic, or crisis settings is desirable.
- Strong understanding of mental health diagnoses, interventions, and recovery models.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and teamwork skills.
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and respond effectively to emergencies.
- Up-to-date knowledge of the Mental Health Act, safeguarding procedures, and NICE guidelines.
- Commitment to delivering patient-centred care and continuous professional development.
Qualifications and Experience
- RMN qualification with current NMC registration (essential).
- Previous experience in a mental health setting (desirable but not essential for newly qualified nurses).
- Training in CBT, DBT, trauma-informed care, or crisis intervention is advantageous.
- Familiarity with electronic care planning and documentation systems.
