Job Overview

The Leeds United Foundation recruits enthusiastic, qualified and child‑focused casual coaches to support its football and multi‑sport programmes across Leeds and Yorkshire during the summer period. These coaches play a key role in delivering high‑quality, safe and enjoyable sessions for children and young people.

Casual coaches help deliver football and multi-Sport activities during summer camps, soccer schools and Healthy Holiday programmes. The aim is to inspire young participants, promote physical activity, and ensure high‑quality learning and engagement.

What are the responsibilities?

Deliver coaching sessions following Leeds United Foundation’s coaching blueprints and summer programme plans.

Create a fun, safe, inclusive and engaging environment for all children.

Complete essential administrative duties, including risk assessments, safeguarding procedures and registers.

Ensure all health & safety and safeguarding guidance is followed at all times.

Support the delivery of programme KPIs and targets.

Attend staff CPD sessions and key team meetings.

Person Specification

Essential

Minimum FA Level 1 / Introduction to Coaching Football or Certification in multi‑sport coaching, e.g., athletics, futsal, or fitness instruction.

Valid FA First Aid and FA Safeguarding Children certificates.

A valid and accepted DBS check (or willingness to obtain one). Experience coaching children, understanding development needs and adapting delivery.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Own transport is often essential due to delivery across different community sites.

Desirable

FA Level 2 / UEFA C coaching qualification or working towards it.

Additional FA Youth Award modules beyond the essential Level 1 requirement.

Further training in behaviour management, SEND inclusion, or youth psychology.

Previous experience delivering holiday camps, soccer schools, or community sport programmes.

Experience coaching large groups or mixed‑ability sessions.

Experience working in school settings, youth clubs, or grassroots football environments.
