Salary: £21,257.48 - £23,232.69

We are currently seeking a One-to-One Teaching Assistant to join our Secondary classes.

About the School

Located in Headingley, Leeds, our school provides a safe and supportive environment for pupils aged 5 to 18 years. With significant investment and new resources, the successful applicant will have the chance to shape a supportive atmosphere that promotes self-discipline, engagement, and inspires learning. Our mission is to offer each pupil a diverse and appropriate education that encourages aspiration and achievement.

Role Responsibilities

  • Mentor and support one pupil or a small group of no more than six pupils.
  • Assist the Classroom Teacher during lessons.
  • Report on pupils' progress and concerns, liaising with other staff to meet pupils' needs.
  • Supervise pupils during non-classroom time, including extracurricular activities and school trips.
  • Assist with lesson planning and classroom preparation.
  • Build positive relationships with pupils to drive interaction and positive learning outcomes.
  • Adapt resources for young people as needed.

Requirements

  • Strong basic education, ideally to A-level, with a minimum of GCSE Grade C or equivalent in English Language and Mathematics, along with sound IT skills.
  • Previous experience in a similar role, such as Teaching Assistant.
  • Experience working with pupils with SEMH in an educational setting.
  • Confidence to take additional responsibilities in areas such as Food Hygiene, Forest School, Lunchtimes, or School Yoga.
  • Experience in behavior management techniques.
  • Commitment to professional development and willingness to learn.
  • Willingness to undergo an Enhanced Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) check prior to commencing work.

The successful candidate will be required to complete an enhanced DBS Check, the cost of which will be covered by the organization.
