I am looking for a reliable, thoughtful and easy-going Personal Assistant to support me with day-to-day life, including practical tasks, personal care, and help both at home and occasionally out and about.
I am a wheelchair user and need support that is respectful, enabling and adaptable. Some days I am fairly independent and may only need light practical help; on other days I may need more hands-on support with personal care and getting organised. I am therefore looking for someone who is comfortable with a role that varies depending on how I am doing.
I work in law and have a wide range of interests including technology, home automation, reading, gaming, music and tabletop roleplaying games. I am looking for someone calm, capable and grounded — someone who can provide support in a dignified, matter-of-fact way and help make everyday life run more smoothly.

working in a legal role
reading science fiction
tinkering with smart home tech
planning or running a D&D campaign
composing music
spending time with my cat
organising travel or accessible days out
I value independence, good humour, intelligence and kindness. I am looking for someone who understands that support work is about helping someone live their life on their own terms.
Main duties
The role is varied, but is likely to include:
Personal care, including support with dressing, undressing, toileting, and clothing adjustment
More hands-on personal support on bad days, when I may need additional help with daily routines
Assisting me to get ready for the day or for bed
General practical help around the home
Fetching items, helping with organisation, tidying and light household tasks
Help with packing, unpacking and general life admin
Supporting me to attend appointments, social activities or trips out
Occasional support when travelling or on holiday, if mutually agreed
Providing practical reassurance and a calm presence when things are busy, tiring or stressful
This role does include personal care, and applicants should be genuinely comfortable with that. The level of support needed may vary from day to day, so flexibility and a good, common-sense approach are important.

Experience and requirements
Previous experience in care, support work or as a PA is welcome
Confidence with personal care is important
Training can be provided for the right person
DBS check and references will be required
Right to work in the UK required
