Production Manager

We are looking to recruit a proactive Production Manager to work for a well known and reputable manufacturing business in the Leeds area. This is a hands-on leadership role where you'll take ownership of shop floor performance, lead and develop teams, and embed a culture of Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement (CI) across operations.

You will be responsible for overseeing day-to-day production activities, ensuring output targets, quality standards, and safety expectations are consistently met. This role requires a strong presence on the shop floor, with a focus on people leadership, process optimisation, and performance delivery.

Roles & Responsibilities

* Lead, motivate, and develop a team of shop floor staff to achieve production targets
* Drive a culture of Lean and Continuous Improvement, identifying inefficiencies and implementing sustainable solutions
* Manage daily production operations to ensure output, quality, and delivery KPIs are met
* Monitor performance metrics and take proactive action to address any deviations
* Ensure compliance with Health & Safety standards and promote a safe working environment
* Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, quality, and supply chain teams
* Support the implementation of CI tools such as 5S, Kaizen, root cause analysis, and standard work
* Manage staffing levels, training, and succession planning within your team

The Ideal Candidate

* Proven experience in a Production Manager / Manufacturing Manager / Shift Manager role
* Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement methodologies
* Demonstrable experience leading and developing teams in a fast-paced production environment
* Data-driven with the ability to analyse performance and implement improvements
* Excellent communication and leadership skills with a hands-on approach
* Comfortable working under pressure and managing competing priorities
