Special Needs Teaching Assistant – Autism Support
Location: Headingley, North Leeds
Job Type: Full-time, Term Time Only
Hours: 8:30am – 3:30pm
Start Date: ASAP
Contract: Until the end of the academic year, with the view to go permanent

Career Teachers are recruiting a Special Needs Teaching Assistant to work in a supportive and inclusive school in Headingley, North Leeds . This is a full-time role , starting as soon as possible, supporting autistic students throughout the school day.
This position is ideal for someone passionate about SEN who is looking for a role that could become permanent .
Key Responsibilities:
- Supporting autistic pupils on a 1:1 basis and in small groups
- Assisting with learning, behaviour and emotional regulation
- Helping students access the curriculum in a safe and structured environment
- Working closely with class teachers and the SEN team
Requirements:
- Experience working with children or young people with autism or additional needs (school or care setting)
- A calm, patient and nurturing approach
- Ability to work well as part of a team
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
