Personalized Learning Assistant
One‑to‑One Teaching Assistant (Secondary)
Contract: 12‑month fixed‑term, full‑time, term‑time only
Salary: £21,257.48 – £23,232.69 per annum
Location: Leeds (Headingley area)
Start date: Various start dates between January and March 2026

Key Responsibilities
- Provide one‑to‑one (or small‑group, max 6 pupils) mentoring and academic support.
- Assist the classroom teacher during lessons and help with lesson planning and preparation.
- Monitor and report pupil progress, raising concerns and liaising with staff to meet individual needs.
- Supervise pupils during non‑classroom times, including extracurricular activities and school trips.
- Build positive relationships that encourage engagement and successful learning outcomes.
- Adapt resources and materials to suit diverse learning requirements.
- Take on additional responsibilities (e.g., food hygiene, forest school, lunchtime duties, school yoga) as needed.
What We’re Looking For
- Strong basic education – ideally A‑levels, with at least GCSE Grade C (or equivalent) in English Language and Mathematics.
- Good IT skills.
- Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant or in a comparable support role.
- Experience working with pupils who have Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.
- Confidence in behaviour management techniques.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development.
- Willingness to undergo an enhanced Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) check (cost covered by the employer).
