Personalized Learning Assistant
One‑to‑One Teaching Assistant (Fixed‑Term)
Contract: 12‑month fixed‑term, full‑time, term‑time only
Salary: £21,257.48 – £23,232.69 per annum

Location: Headingley, Leeds (school campus)
Start date: Various dates between January and March 2026
About the Role

The school is looking for a dedicated Teaching Assistant to provide one‑to‑one (or small‑group) support to pupils across Key Stages 2, 3 and 4. Key Responsibilities
- Mentor and support one pupil, or a small group of up to six pupils, on a daily basis.
- Assist the classroom teacher during lessons and help with lesson planning and classroom preparation.
- Report on pupil progress and concerns, liaising with other staff to ensure needs are met.
- Supervise pupils during non‑classroom time, including extracurricular activities and school trips.
- Build positive relationships with assigned pupils, encouraging interaction and positive learning outcomes.
- Adapt resources to suit individual learning needs.
- Take additional responsibility in areas such as food hygiene, forest school, lunchtimes, or school yoga, where appropriate.
Requirements
- Strong basic education – ideally A‑levels, with at least GCSE Grade C (or equivalent) in English Language and Mathematics.
- Sound IT skills.
- Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant or in a similar supporting role.
- Experience working with pupils who have Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.
- Proven behaviour‑management techniques.
- Willingness to take on additional responsibilities within the school environment.
- Commitment to professional development and continuous learning.
- Ability to undergo an Enhanced Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) check prior to starting (cost covered by the employer).
