Assistant Consultant/Consultant (Land Quality)

What does the role involve?

As a Land Quality Consultant/Assistant Consultant, you'll undertake site and office based work, supporting delivery of land quality assessment and brownfield regeneration schemes in the UK and abroad for a range of public and private sector clients.

Typical duties will include

• Providing consultancy services in relation to geo-environmental assessments
• Preparing and undertaking factual and interpretative geo-environmental reports.
• Site supervision (appropriate to experience) and routine monitoring during site investigations, remediation, demolition and construction programmes as required, including liaison with internal/external clients and sub-contractors.
• Acting as project manager on small sized projects and progress towards managing larger projects.
• Assist in the production of proposals/bids.
• Assist in general business development on behalf of Sweco and develop strong customer relationships.
• Preparing drawings and well written, clear, accurate reports.

What do you need to be successful in the role?

• Qualified to degree level, preferably to MSc level in a relevant technical subject.
• Working towards Chartership or be prepared to work towards Chartership with an appropriate professional body.
• Good understanding of best practice guidance, regulation and legislation in contaminated land.
• Applied knowledge and understanding of Construction Design and Management (CDM) regulations.
• Proven experience in delivering site visits, investigations and/or remediation works in line with the highest health, safety and environmental standards.
• Track record in design and supervision of site investigation works including experience in a variety of techniques, good site management, supervision of contractors, soil logging, chemical and geotechnical sampling and analysis, gas and groundwater monitoring.
• Demonstrated experience in collecting, managing, analysing, and interpreting data.
• Experience in technical report writing including Phase 1 desk studies, factual and interpretative ground investigations, remediation option appraisals and verification reports.
• Full driving licence.
