Are you a driven, commercially minded recruiter with a passion for building lasting client relationships and winning new business? We are a specialist recruitment agency based in Leeds, focused exclusively on the insurance sector. Due to continued growth, we are looking for an experienced Recruitment Consultant to join our expanding team and take on a UK-wide permanent placements desk.

This is a genuine 360° sales role — you will be rewarded for building your desk from the ground up, developing new client accounts, and deepening relationships with our established client base across the UK insurance market.

The Role

As a Recruitment Consultant specialising in insurance, you will manage the full recruitment lifecycle for permanent placements, with a clear focus on new business development and growing your client portfolio. You will work across all sectors of the insurance market, placing professionals from junior to senior level.

Key Responsibilities

• Proactively identify and win new business across the UK insurance market through targeted business development activity, including cold calling, networking, and attending industry events.
• Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with existing clients, becoming their trusted recruitment partner of choice.
• Grow market share by mapping competitor activity, identifying gaps in the market, and positioning our offering effectively.
• Manage the full 360° recruitment process: taking detailed client briefs, headhunting and sourcing candidates, conducting interviews, managing offers, and ensuring successful onboarding.
• Build and maintain a strong candidate network of insurance professionals across the UK.
• Meet and exceed revenue targets and KPIs, with consistent and disciplined use of the CRM system.
• Provide market intelligence and salary benchmarking insight to clients and candidates alike.
• Represent the business at industry events and forums to raise brand profile and generate leads.

What We Are Looking For

• Proven experience in recruitment, ideally within insurance, financial services, or a professional services sector.
• A demonstrable track record of winning new business and hitting or exceeding billing targets.
• Strong commercial acumen and a consultative, relationship-led approach to clients and candidates.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills, both written and verbal.
• A self-starter mentality — someone who takes ownership of their desk and thrives in a target-driven environment.
• Knowledge of the UK insurance market is highly desirable but not essential — we will provide sector training.
• Experience of permanent placements preferred; however, we welcome candidates from other disciplines.
