About the School

Located in Headingley, Leeds, our school opened its doors in September 2024, providing a safe and supportive environment for pupils aged 5 to 18. Our mission is to create a learning atmosphere where young people can thrive, feel secure, and leave school equipped with the experiences and outcomes necessary to contribute positively to their communities.

Role Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching designated areas of the Secondary curriculum to small, bespoke class groups of up to 6 pupils, with the support of a Teaching Assistant. You will plan, prepare, and present lessons that cater to the needs of all ability ranges.

You will be required to:

• Plan and teach well-structured lessons to assigned classes, following the school's plans, curriculum, and schemes of work.
• Assess, monitor, record, and report on the learning needs, progress, and achievements of assigned pupils, making productive use of assessment.
• Adapt teaching to respond to the strengths and needs of pupils.
• Set high standards that inspire, motivate, and challenge pupils.
• Promote good progress outcomes.
• Demonstrate secure subject and curriculum knowledge.
• Participate in preparations for external tests.
• Teach across the KS3/KS4 Curriculum.
• Adapt learning to meet the needs of learners with SEND.

Requirements

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
• Degree in a relevant field.
• Successful teaching experience.
• Experience in delivering qualifications up to GCSE.
• Preferable experience in Humanities, PE, and/or vocational subject areas.
• Experience teaching KS3/KS4.
• Knowledge of the National Curriculum.
• Understanding of effective teaching and learning strategies.
• Ability to adapt teaching to meet pupils' needs.
• Strong relationship-building skills with pupils.
• Knowledge of child protection and safeguarding practices.
• Effective behavior management strategies.
• Good ICT skills, particularly in using technology to support learning.
